PROPER CONDUCT IN THE LIBRARY

Proper conduct is expected of all library users at all times.  Disorderly conduct such as drunken behavior creating disorder, tumult, breach of peace or serious disturbance, gross and deliberate discourtesy, possession of prohibited drugs or disruptive behavior such as excessive noise, loud   discussions, scandalous acts (such as exhibitionists acts, necking, etc.); or improper behavior such as smoking, eating, playing cards and defacing of walls, furniture,  equipment, etc. within the library premises are strictly prohibited.  Any person caught violating the rule of conduct shall be excluded by the Librarian from the Library premises and be subject to suspension of library privilege.

PENALTY FOR OFFENSES

  1. Withdrawal of a reserve book without reservation permit shall mean a fine of P50.00. The Library privilege to borrow from the reserve collection shall be suspended for two weeks on second offense.
  2. Failure to return a general reference book and other restricted materials for photocopying purpose shall require a fine of P50.00 and, on second offense, suspension of library privileges for one week.
  3. Mutilation and stealing of any library property shall require disciplinary action as follows:
  4. Replacement or payment of library material at its current market value.
  5. A fine of not less than P300.00 but not more than 50% of the current cost of the material whichever is higher.
  6. In appropriate cases, an additional penalty of suspension or expulsion to be imposed after due process, by the Chancellor upon recommendation of the Librarian through the Dean.
  7. Falsification and use of someone else’s identification card is strictly prohibited.
  8. A person who falsifies the identification shall after due process be suspended from the University for not more than one semester.
  9. A person who uses an identification card not his own shall have his library privileges suspended for not more than one semester.
  10. A person who refuses or fails to settle his library account or obligations shall: not be allowed to register; not permitted to visit unit libraries; and not be issued a University Clearance.
